Alabama football’s 2025 recruiting class faced a setback as Anthony “Turbo” Rogers, a four-star running back from Carver-Montgomery High School, announced his decommitment on Sunday.
Originally committing to the Crimson Tide in June 2023, Rogers shared the news on social media, writing, “God’s plan,” accompanied by a praying hands emoji.
Chad Simmons of On3 reported that Rogers is now considering Ohio State and Georgia as his top choices. Recent visits to both schools were documented on his Instagram account, indicating a shift in his recruitment focus.
The Crimson Tide’s 2025 class still includes one running back commitment, Akylin “AK” Dear, who pledged to Alabama in August. Rogers is ranked as the No. 8 running back and No. 141 overall prospect for 2025 by 247Sports’ composite rankings.
This marks the third decommitment in recent weeks for Alabama, with linebacker Dawson Merritt flipping to Nebraska and wide receiver Caleb Cunningham opting for Ole Miss. Alabama’s recruiting class, once ranked No. 1, has dropped to No. 3 nationally, behind Ohio State and Georgia.
The early signing period for the 2025 class begins on December 4.
