As the Philadelphia Phillies prepare for a strong postseason push, certain players are likely facing their final days with the team.

While many players focus on securing a deep playoff run, others might see their tenure in Philadelphia come to an end once the 2024 MLB season concludes. This is particularly true for five players who have failed to make significant contributions during the regular season or have struggled with injuries.

One of those players is Rodolfo Castro, acquired at the trade deadline in 2023, who was expected to bring versatility and power. Unfortunately, his performance was underwhelming, batting just .100 with minimal production in limited at-bats. His struggles continued into 2024, where injuries sidelined him for most of the season. Castro appeared in just 23 minor league games, posting an unimpressive .221/.286/.351 slash line before undergoing season-ending thumb surgery.

Given his poor results and the emergence of other versatile infielders like Edmundo Sosa, Weston Wilson, and Kody Clemens, Castro is now expendable.

With postseason success in sight, these players will likely face hard decisions as the Phillies look to build a more competitive roster for the future.
