Chelsea summer signing, Romeo Lavia rejected Liverpool to join Chelsea from Southampton with hope of continuing his promising career with the west London side. However, the 21 year old Belgian international Chelsea career did not begin as he and the fans anticipated. He did not participate in the preseason due to injury and after a long wait, made his Chelsea debut in the 2 – 1 victory against Crystal Palace at Stamford bridge on the 27, December 2023 where he picked up another injury in his quadriceps, 32′ minutes after coming on in the match.
The player has since began his rehabilitation and reconditioning program at Cobham. Asked during the pre match press conference last Friday ahead of crystal place clash this weekend, if Lavia will be available in the Carabao cup final against Liverpool later this month, Pochettino replied “impossible.”
The player posted on his X account to show gratitude to the fans for their concern and support, the post reads:
