It has come to light that Liverpool holds a keen interest in Hato, with Premier League rivals Manchester United and Arsenal also tracking his development closely.

Insiders have revealed to Football Insider that Liverpool’s recruitment team regards Hato as a talented footballer with the ability to excel but currently lacking the physical robustness required for the Premier League.

Liverpool’s scouting assessments have drawn parallels between Hato and Manchester City’s Nathan Ake, highlighting their similar stature and positional versatility, with Ake standing at 180cm (5ft 10in) and featuring prominently as both a left-back and a centre-back for Pep Guardiola’s squad.

Securing a left-sided centre-back ranks high on Liverpool’s list of priorities for the upcoming transfer window as they seek to strengthen their defensive lineup.

Despite his youth, Hato has played an integral role for Ajax’s senior team this season, impressively participating in every minute of their league campaign thus far.

Moreover, he has demonstrated leadership qualities by captaining the side on multiple occasions, notably guiding them to a 3-1 victory over AEK Athens in the Europa League.

Hato has also gained valuable international experience, making his debut for the Netherlands in November 2023 as a substitute for Liverpool’s own Virgil van Dijk, further solidifying his credentials as a promising talent in the footballing arena.
