Chelsea on loan winger at FC Strasbourg Gabriel Angelo
Chelsea loaned winger to FC Strasbourg has returned to Cobham due to hernia problem.

According to a report by The Evening Standard, Ângelo Gabriel’s (19) season with RC Strasbourg Alsace might conclude prematurely. Gabriel, on loan from Chelsea, has returned to Cobham due to concerns about a hernia issue.

The Brazilian winger’s absence could significantly impact Strasbourg, currently embroiled in a relegation battle.

Despite making 25 appearances and contributing four assists since joining on loan, Gabriel’s ongoing health problem raises fears that he could miss the remaining eight games of the season.

This would leave Strasbourg without their sole recognized right-winger, a situation worsened by the club’s decision not to sign another winger in January, against manager Patrick Vieira’s wishes.

The BlueCo owners, who also possess Chelsea, opted to prioritize Gabriel’s development over additional recruitment in that position, a choice that may now prove detrimental.

Strasbourg, positioned 12th in Ligue 1, are merely four points clear of the relegation play-off spot.
