Hodgson confirmed the news during the pre match press conference ahead of the London derby against Chelsea on Monday night. He stated that Micheal Oliseh and Marc Guehi came off against Brighton in their last time out while Eberechi Eze missed out entirely.

“We have lost all three of them, there is no question that it is a massive blow,” Hodgson confirmed. “In particular after the Sheffield United game, when we were really thinking we were going to be OK now we have got these guys back, and just the opposite has occurred.”

“Olise and Eze are both hamstrings, but Marc Guéhi has jarred his knee,” he said. “Guéhi is just a question of time until that jarring passes and he gets full flexibility in his knee, so it doesn’t necessarily need to be a particularly long injury.

“But unfortunately the issue is with hamstrings. We suffered another one with Jes Rak-Sakyi. He has also managed to pick up another hamstring strain after doing so well to get back.

Chelsea travels to selhurst park in a bid to ease pressure following their disappointing recent premier league form which saw them slip to position eleven on the league table after losing two consecutive league matches away to Liverpool by four goals to one [4-1] and at home to Wolverhampton Wanderers by four goals to two [4-2] prompting some furious fans to call for the sack of Mauricio Pochettino.
