Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has expressed a strong desire to reintegrate former player Santi Cazorla into the club’s setup, potentially as part of the coaching staff.

Arteta, who has successfully revitalized Arsenal’s fortunes since taking over in December 2019, sees his former teammate as a trusted figure who could significantly contribute to the team’s environment.

Under Arteta’s leadership, Arsenal has transformed from finishing eighth in the Premier League in his inaugural season to being title contenders this season.

As the team edges closer to achieving premier league success, the importance of a competent and cohesive coaching staff has become apparent.

Arteta, speaking to Sky Sports, highlighted Cazorla’s potential value to the team, not just for his tactical knowledge but also for the positive energy he brings.

“You know my sympathy for Santi,” Arteta remarked, emphasizing the close relationship and mutual understanding they shared during their playing days.

“I think he had an unbelievable energy that, as a coaching staff to have someone like that, that you can trust with his knowledge, but his energy as well to the team. I think it’s going to be valid.”

Cazorla, who is fondly remembered by Arsenal fans for his role in the team between two highly contrasting eras of the club’s history, made 180 appearances and clinched two FA Cups during his tenure at the Emirates.
