- Marseille has confirmed the dismissal of head coach Gennaro Gattuso after been in charge for 24 matches.
A 1-0 defeat against Brest in last Sunday’s Ligue 1 match positioned Marseille in ninth place, marking a drop of six spots since Marcelino’s sudden departure when the team was in the Champions League positions.
The club released a short press statement that reads: “Olympique de Marseille announces the end of its collaboration with Gennaro Gattuso. ”

Jean-Louis Gasset, former Ivory coast coach who was dismissed during the Africa Cup of Nations, is anticipated to assume the helm of Marseille for the remainder of the season.
