Nottingham Forest set to reshuffle their squad ahead of the next season.

Nottingham Forest has unveiled their retained list as the 2023/24 season concludes, marking the start of their summer transfer activities. The club confirmed the departures of 13 players, including several first-team members and academy prospects.

Key exits include Wayne Hennessey, Felipe, Cheikhou Kouyate, and Scott McKenna.

McKenna, a notable promotion hero with 106 appearances for Forest, had spent the latter half of the season on loan at FC Copenhagen.

Other players leaving as free agents are Harry Arter and Loic Mbe Soh, who had not been in the first-team plans recently.

Additionally, the club announced the release of seven academy players: Kevin Adueni, Tony Gbopo, Ethan Hull, Ateef Konate, Henry Lister, Elijah Morgan, and Theo Robinson.

Forest expressed gratitude to all departing players, stating:

“The club would like to thank each player for their contribution during their time on Trentside and wish them well for the future.”

Meanwhile, defenders Willy Boly and Ola Aina, whose contracts were nearing their end, have secured their places for the next season.

Boly signed a one-year deal with an option for a second, while Aina’s one-year extension was activated.

This wave of exits signals the beginning of an active transfer window for Nottingham Forest as they prepare for the 2024/25 Premier League season. Forest is already linked with potential new signings, including a £25 million-rated midfielder.

As fans digest the news, attention shifts to how the club will rebuild and strengthen its squad for the challenges ahead.
