According to latest reports, Andrey Santos is not expected to return to RC RC Strasbourg Alsace for the upcoming season.

The Brazilian midfielder, who joined Strasbourg on loan during the winter transfer window, played a crucial role in the latter half of their campaign, making 11 appearances and leaving a significant impact on the team’s performance.

Initially struggling for game time at Nottingham Forest, Santos seized the opportunity to revive his career at Strasbourg. His contributions were vital in helping the team finish the season strongly, prompting the club to express interest in extending his loan for another year.

However, The Athletic reports that Chelsea, Santos’ parent club, has other plans for the 20-year-old midfielder.

He is being considered for a position in Chelsea’s first-team squad next season, under new manager Enzo Maresca.

Maresca is reportedly impressed with Santos’ versatility in midfield and sees him as a valuable asset for the upcoming season.

Given Chelsea’s interest in integrating Santos into their first team, the likelihood of a loan extension or a permanent move to Strasbourg appears slim.

This development signifies Chelsea’s intent to capitalize on Santos’ potential and integrate him into their squad as they rebuild under new management.

This decision underscores Chelsea’s confidence in Santos’ abilities and potential contributions, marking a significant step in his career progression.

For Strasbourg, it means adjusting their transfer plans as they prepare for the next season without the promising Brazilian midfielder.
