Aston Villa is in advanced talks with Juventus regarding the transfer of Brazilian midfielder Douglas Luiz.

Juventus aims to acquire Luiz in a cash-plus-players deal, including Samuel Iling-Junior and Weston McKennie.

According to Sky Sport Italy, negotiations have accelerated, with Juventus trying to reduce the cash component from €20 million to €18 million.

Contracts for Luiz and McKennie are reportedly being finalized, while details regarding Iling-Junior are still under discussion.

Iling-Junior, who joined Juventus at 16 from Chelsea, is expected to provide additional attacking options for Villa. Meanwhile, McKennie had a resurgence last season at Juventus, making 34 Serie A appearances and recording 10 assists after a lackluster loan spell at Leeds United.

Juventus, having secured a third-place finish in Serie A and winning the Coppa Italia, is looking to strengthen its squad under incoming manager Thiago Motta, following Max Allegri’s departure.

For Aston Villa, selling Luiz would not only comply with Profit and Sustainability Rules but also enhance squad depth and versatility with the additions of McKennie and Iling-Junior.

Villa manager Unai Emery would benefit from the influx of talent, especially as the team prepares for a challenging season ahead.

The deal, if finalized, could be a strategic move for both clubs, balancing financial and competitive goals.
