Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce, 34, remains focused on his NFL career despite growing opportunities in the entertainment industry and a high-profile relationship with pop icon Taylor Swift.

Kelce, who has three years left on his contract with the Chiefs, has stated his intention to continue playing football “until the wheels fall off.” With three Super Bowl victories in the last five seasons, he aims to lead the Chiefs to a third consecutive championship.

While Kelce’s relationship with Swift has significantly boosted his celebrity status, he has also found success in the media world.

His podcast “New Heights,” co-hosted with his brother Jason, is among the most popular in the country. Additionally, Kelce has signed on to host Amazon’s upcoming game show “Are You Smarter Than A Celebrity?” and is set to appear in FX’s horror series “Grotesquerie.”

Despite these ventures, Kelce remains committed to his football career.

“I really can’t put a timeframe on [retirement]. I love coming to work every single day,” he said. “Obviously, I know there’s opportunities outside of football for me. You have to keep in perspective that I’m still a little kid when I come into this building, man.”

Kelce’s current contract, which he signed in April, makes him the highest-paid tight end in the NFL with a yearly salary of $17 million.

He has expressed his desire to continue playing for as long as possible, emphasizing his love for the game and willingness to endure its physical demands.

“I know I’m 34 years old, but I have a love to do this right here, in the middle of the heat in June. I love coming to work every single day. Wear and tear me, baby. I’m ready for it, man. Put the load on me.”

Kelce’s recent performance in the 2023 regular season included 984 receiving yards and five touchdowns, slightly below his usual standards but still impressive.

His playoff contributions were crucial, with 355 yards and three touchdowns in four games, leading the Chiefs to another Super Bowl victory.

Kelce’s brother Jason, a former Philadelphia Eagles star, is also making moves off the field, joining ESPN’s “Monday Night Football” pregame squad.

Despite the lure of post-football opportunities, Travis Kelce’s primary focus remains on his NFL career and achieving more success with the Chiefs.
