Arsenal Sets Price for Thomas Partey Indicating Potential Saudi Transfer Bids

Thomas Partey’s tenure in European football may soon be drawing to a close, as Arsenal has reportedly set a significant asking price for the Ghanaian midfielder, despite his contract nearing its end.

According to football.insider, Arsenal values Partey at £30 million, a figure that suggests the club anticipates substantial interest from Saudi Arabian teams.

Partey’s potential departure this summer has been a topic of speculation, primarily due to Arsenal’s reluctance to depend on him because of his recurrent injury issues. His inconsistency, highlighted by a nearly season-long absence, has fueled doubts about his reliability, especially following the arrival of Declan Rice.

The club’s strategic direction appears to be shifting towards solidifying their midfield with new talent. With Rice now a key figure in Arsenal’s midfield, the club is keen to bring in another top-tier midfielder to complement Rice and Martin Odegaard, signaling a reduced need for Partey.

Faced with the choice of losing Partey for free next summer or monetizing his transfer now, Arsenal seems to favor the latter. Saudi Arabian clubs, known for their recent aggressive market moves, are reportedly interested in acquiring Partey, aligning with Arsenal’s financial strategy.

However, whether a European club would match the £30 million valuation for Partey remains uncertain. Given his injury history and the club’s current stance, it seems more probable that Partey’s future lies in Saudi Arabia.

This development marks a significant juncture in Partey’s career and Arsenal’s strategic planning, as the club balances between retaining valuable talent and optimizing financial returns.
