Manchester City boasts an impressive roster of world-class talent, having secured four consecutive Premier League titles. Many of their players have participated in international tournaments this summer.

Yet Erling Haaland, one of their key players, has found himself the subject of a controversial statement by a fellow Premier League player, despite not being on international duty.Nottingham Forest defender Murillo and Manchester City striker Erling Haaland

Murillo, a Nottingham Forest player, recently discussed Haaland in a video on the Beija Me Mucho YouTube channel. He remarked:

“Playing with the City team makes it much easier. Some centre-forwards who have more awareness of positioning and finishing score a lot of goals with them.” Murillo further commented, “Haaland is not a star, but he is a good player. He scores—ball in the box, aerial, to score he is unreal. He is tall, strong, and fast as hell.”

Contrary to Murillo’s opinion, Haaland’s performance metrics tell a different story. Before joining Manchester City, Haaland netted 86 goals in 89 matches for Borussia Dortmund.

Since his transfer to the Etihad Stadium in 2022, he has continued to display his scoring prowess, with 90 goals in 98 appearances across all competitions. This includes a decisive goal just nine minutes after coming off the bench in City’s 2-0 victory over Nottingham Forest last season, a match in which Murillo was also involved.

While Murillo’s comments downplay Haaland’s star status, the Norwegian striker’s record speaks for itself. His ability to consistently score in various competitions and against numerous teams has solidified his reputation as one of the top forwards in football today.
