As the 2024/25 Premier League season approaches, Nottingham Forest, led by head coach Nuno Espirito Santo, is gearing up with significant preparations.
The team begins its pre-season this week, culminating in a friendly match against Chesterfield on Saturday. With their first league match against Bournemouth set for August 17, Forest is in the midst of crucial squad adjustments.
This summer, the club has focused on strategic signings and trimming its roster to comply with Profitability and Sustainability Rules (PSR).
Notable acquisitions include Marko Stamenic, Eric da Silva Moreira, and Elliot Anderson, though Stamenic will spend the season on loan at Olympiacos. The expected arrival of goalkeeper Carlos Miguel from Corinthians will bolster their options between the posts. Further, the club is keen on strengthening its center-back and attacking positions, particularly if Murillo departs.
Forest has already released six senior players and returned five loanees to their parent clubs. Additionally, Odysseas Vlachodimos, Moussa Niakhate, and Orel Mangala have been sold, while Brandon Aguilera has moved to Rio Ave.
Nuno prefers a compact squad, so further exits are anticipated, with interest in players like Matt Turner and Joe Worrall. Fringe players such as Jonathan Panzo, Alex Mighten, and Emmanuel Dennis might also be moved.

Murillo has notably attracted attention, though bids meeting the club’s £60-70 million valuation have yet to materialize. Other key players like Morgan Gibbs-White, Anthony Elanga, and Callum Hudson-Odoi are also under scrutiny from rival teams.
