Bayern Munich is making strategic moves to secure two promising players, potentially impacting Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) and other top European clubs.

The Bavarian giants are targeting Stade Rennais’ Désiré Doué and PSG’s Xavi Simons in a bold transfer bid.

Interest in Doué has been heating up, with Bayern Munich, Manchester United, PSG, Tottenham Hotspur, and Chelsea all reportedly in the race.

L’Equipe recently reported Chelsea’s entry into the competition for the young talent, joining the other elite clubs. Doué had an impressive 2023-24 season, playing in 43 matches and contributing four goals and six assists for Rennes.

Bayern Munich’s pursuit of Xavi Simons has also intensified. According to Sky Sport Germany’s Florian Plettenberg, the club is in advanced negotiations with Rennes for Doué and plans to make a second offer soon.

Rennes is currently asking for €60 million plus add-ons for the midfielder. Simons, who shone during his loan spell at RB Leipzig with 10 goals and 15 assists in 43 games, has drawn interest from Arsenal, Barcelona, Manchester United, and Manchester City, as well as Bayern.

Bayern’s manager, Vincent Kompany, has personally reached out to Doué, signaling the club’s serious intent. The potential double signing would be a significant coup for Bayern, bolstering their squad with two highly rated young talents.

As Bayern Munich moves forward with their plans, PSG remains a contender for Doué, keeping the transfer race competitive. Both players have shown exceptional promise, and their acquisitions would strengthen Bayern’s position in European football.

The ongoing transfer activities reflect Bayern Munich’s determination to reinforce their team for the upcoming season. With negotiations advancing and substantial offers on the table, the next few weeks will be crucial in determining the futures of Doué and Simons.
