Chelsea are considering parting ways with Mauricio Pochettino in the summer.

Reports suggest pressure is mounting on Mauricio Pochettino as the club hierarchy felt embarrassed after Chelsea lost the Carabao cup finals to Liverpool at Wembley last Sunday.

Chelsea were favourite to lift the trophy going into the match due to Liverpool’s heavily depleted squad with most of their first team star players sidelined with injuries.

However, The Blues failed to make the advantage count even as Liverpool fielded alot of academy players who lacked experience to compete at that level.

Should Pochettino fails to secure European football, doubts about his long-term future at Stamford Bridge could grow, according to the Daily Mail.

The new owners Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital consortium having invested heavily, are eager for European qualification and may consider a managerial change to enhance their chances. Fan sentiment towards Pochettino will likely influence any decision.

According to report by Caught Offside Sporting Lisbon coach Ruben Amorim is considered as Mauricio Pochettino’s replacement.

Chelsea’s hierarchy has begun exploring potential replacements for Pochettino, with Sporting boss Ruben Amorim emerging as a frontrunner for the job.

Competition for top managers by and doubt about  Chelsea’s attractiveness as a destination cast doubts on landing Amorim in the summer.

Pochettino signed two years contract with Chelsea before the beginning of the 2023/2024  season with an option to extend.

The Blues currently sit in 11th place in the Premier League, trailing the top four by 17 points. Their primary route to European competition next season may be through the FA Cup.
