Alvaro Morata has joined AC Milan from Atletico Madrid, just days after winning Euro 2024 with Spain.

The 31-year-old striker signed a four-year contract with the Rossoneri, who brought him in to replace Olivier Giroud following the Frenchman’s move to Los Angeles FC.

Morata’s contract with Milan includes an option for an additional year, extending until June 2028. Reports indicate that Milan paid a 13-million-euro release clause, and Morata will earn approximately 4.5 million euros per season.

Morata played in every match of Spain’s Euro 2024 campaign, scoring his only goal in a 3-0 victory against Croatia. He boasts 36 goals in 80 international appearances. This transfer marks his return to Serie A, where he previously played for Juventus, winning two league titles and three Italian Cups.

Morata’s accolades also include an FA Cup with Chelsea and two Champions League titles with Real Madrid. AC Milan, who finished second in Serie A last season, will start their new season under coach Paulo Fonseca against Torino on August 17.
