Nottingham Forest is reportedly targeting a £5 million move for Riquelme Fillipi, a promising young Brazilian winger who has drawn inspiration from Neymar.

The Premier League club, under the management of Nuno Espirito Santo and ownership of Evangelos Marinakis, has already made significant strides in the transfer market this summer despite the challenges other clubs have faced due to the recent conclusion of the Euros and Copa America.

Forest has already signed five new players and parted ways with several others to comply with PSR regulations. The club aims to strengthen further by adding Fillipi, who impressed in the Palmeiras academy and helped Brazil secure the South American Under-17 Championship.

The 17-year-old, named after the iconic Argentinian midfielder Juan Román Riquelme, has developed a playing style marked by speed, dribbling, and versatility.

“I always try to pay special attention to my finishing and, regarding positioning, I can adapt to different formations. Modern football demands this versatility.”

Fillipi, who idolizes Neymar, is seen as a long-term prospect for Forest, which has a history of successfully integrating Brazilian talent, exemplified by Murillo. The club’s pursuit of Fillipi underscores their strategy of investing in young, dynamic players who can adapt to various roles on the field.

This potential acquisition follows Forest’s positive start to the pre-season, with a comfortable win against Chesterfield, and reflects their ambition to build a squad capable of improving on their turbulent 2023/24 campaign, where they narrowly avoided relegation. As negotiations progress, Forest fans can anticipate the possible arrival of another exciting talent at the City Ground.
