Celtic have almost finalized the acquisition of one of their key transfer targets after negotiating a favorable fee, as reported by journalist Barry Anderson.

The club has been active in the transfer market, recently securing the signings of goalkeepers Kasper Schmeichel and Viljami Sinisalo.

Manager Brendan Rodgers is keen to retain midfielder Paulo Bernardo, who was on loan from Benfica last season.

Negotiations with Benfica have resulted in an agreed fee of £3.3 million, with Benfica also set to receive 30% of any future transfer fee for Bernardo.Benfica Midfielder Paulo Bernardo

While the terms have been verbally agreed, the deal is pending the completion of paperwork. Bernardo is thus expected to return to Celtic for the upcoming season, having made 33 appearances, scoring four goals, and providing three assists in the previous campaign. He will aim to improve his contributions in the new season.
