Team president Brad Stevens continued his habit of taking care of Boston Celtics players on Sunday, inking sharpshooting small forward Sam Hauser to a four-year, $45 million contract extension.

As noted by NBC Sports Boston’s Chris Forsberg, the deal joins a lengthy list of long-term deals earned by homegrown Celtics over the last year-plus.

Brad Stevens over the last 380 days:

– 7 contract extensions

– $1 billion in money

Adding Al Horford in 2022, every player in Boston’s top 8 has received an extension. Including Marcus Smart, Rob Williams, and Josh Richardson, Stevens has orchestrated:

– 11 extensions, $1.2 billion

Robert Williams III, Josh Richardson, and former Defensive Player of the Year Marcus Smart were teammates in Beantown for part of the 2021-22 campaign.

Williams, selected 28th overall in 2018, spent five seasons with the Celtics before being traded to the Portland Trail Blazers with Malcolm Brogdon on October 1, 2023, in a deal that landed Jrue Holiday in Boston.

Stevens also moved Moses Brown to the Dallas Mavericks on July 31, 2021, in exchange for Richardson, who was later sent to the San Antonio Spurs on February 10, 2022, in a package for Derrick White.

After his first seven seasons with the Celtics, Smart inked a long-term deal on August 21, 2021. However, he was traded to the Memphis Grizzlies on June 23, 2023, in a three-team deal that brought Kristaps Porzingis to Boston.

Al Horford, after stints with the Philadelphia 76ers and Oklahoma City Thunder, was reacquired by Stevens on June 18, 2021. Horford signed a long-term deal with the Celtics on December 1, 2022, and was pivotal in the team’s recent championship run.

Other members of the Boston rotation to sign long-term deals under Stevens’ presidency in the last 380 days include superstars Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum, Payton Pritchard, Holiday, Porzingis, and White.
