Bryson DeChambeau has voiced his opinion on the future of Tiger Woods in professional golf, following recent speculation about whether the 15-time major champion should consider retirement.

Woods, who recently missed the cut at The Open Championship at Royal Troon, has faced doubts about his continued competitiveness, particularly from Colin Montgomerie, who suggested Woods’ era of contending for major titles might be over.

Woods, however, was quick to refute these claims, emphasizing his exemption to compete until age 60 as a past champion and asserting his own right to decide his future in the sport. He indicated his intent to compete at next year’s final major at Royal Portrush, signaling his belief in his ability to remain competitive.

DeChambeau, Woods’ former Ryder Cup teammate, supports Woods’ decision to keep playing. Speaking at the LIV Golf UK event, DeChambeau praised Woods’ contributions to golf and his enduring influence on the sport.

“He is the most influential figure in golf right now, and I think he deserves to play in the majors.”

DeChambeau said, emphasizing Woods’ ongoing desire to compete and win.

Despite the challenges Woods faces against younger competitors, DeChambeau remains confident in Woods’ potential to secure a record-breaking 83rd PGA Tour title. He acknowledged the difficulty but admired Woods’ determination and competitive spirit, believing it is too early to count him out.

In a separate event, DeChambeau garnered attention by playing golf with former US President Donald Trump, a collaboration aimed at supporting charity and the wounded warriors foundation.
