Strahinja Pavlovic is set to join AC Milan from Red Bull Salzburg, as reported.
Following Simon Kjaer’s departure on a free transfer and last season’s defensive struggles, Milan sought to strengthen their defense.
Pavlovic, linked with Milan for weeks, received the “here we go” status from Fabrizio Romano last night.
Local Austrian news outlet Salzburger Nachrichten confirmed that the deal between Milan and Salzburg is near completion. Pavlovic missed training today as he is already in Milan, ready for his medical examination.
After this, he is expected to join the squad on their preseason tour in the United States. The transfer fee is €18 million plus €2 million in bonuses, a reasonable price for the 23-year-old Serbian defender who fits Milan’s criteria for a center-back signing.
