Seven LIV Golf players have earned spots in the Paris Olympics, despite the challenges posed by the league’s events not contributing to world rankings, which are critical for Olympic qualification.

High-profile players like Bryson DeChambeau, Brooks Koepka, and Dustin Johnson, who have all had significant successes in the LIV Golf league, failed to qualify for Team USA.  Cameron Smith missed out on representing Australia.

Rory McIlroy, a vocal critic of LIV Golf, pointed out that these players were aware that joining the breakaway league could risk their Olympic ambitions. Despite this, stars like Jon Rahm, who recently won the LIV Golf UK event, have secured their Olympic dreams.

Rahm, who signed a lucrative deal with LIV Golf in 2023, will be representing Spain, aiming to make up for his absence from the Tokyo Games due to COVID-19.

Other LIV players like Joaquin Niemann and Mito Pereira from Chile, Abraham Ancer and Carlos Ortiz from Mexico, and Adrian Meronk from Poland have also secured their spots, reflecting their continued success on the LIV circuit despite the unique challenges posed by the tour’s non-ranking events.
