Carlos Alcaraz secured his place in the Olympics men’s singles final with an emphatic victory over Felix Auger-Aliassime.

The 21-year-old Spaniard needed just 75 minutes to dismantle his Canadian opponent in a lopsided 6-1, 6-1 win, continuing his flawless run in the tournament without dropping a set.

Alcaraz’s performance guarantees him at least a silver medal, but he now stands on the brink of making history as the youngest man to win an Olympic tennis gold medal.

His achievement brings him closer to replicating the success of his idol and doubles partner, Rafael Nadal, who won gold in the 2008 Beijing Olympics. If Alcaraz triumphs in the final, he will have captured both the French Open, Wimbledon, and the Olympic gold in the same summer, echoing Nadal’s remarkable feat from 16 years ago.

In the match, Alcaraz overwhelmed Auger-Aliassime with his relentless pace and precision, winning the first six games to take the opening set. Despite a brief resistance from the world No. 19 in the second set, Alcaraz’s superiority was never in doubt.

Auger-Aliassime’s errors compounded his struggles, leading to a swift conclusion as Alcaraz capitalized on multiple mistakes to seal his victory.

He will face either Novak Djokovic or Lorenzo Musetti in the final. Should Djokovic prevail, it will set up a highly anticipated rematch of the Wimbledon final, which Alcaraz won just weeks ago.

The young Spaniard’s quest for Olympic gold has captivated fans and set the stage for a thrilling finale.
