Matt O’Riley’s future at Celtic remains uncertain as the Premier League season approaches, with several English clubs expressing keen interest in the midfielder.

Since joining the Scottish champions in 2022, the Denmark international has been a standout performer. His 2023/24 campaign was particularly impressive, as he scored 19 goals and provided 18 assists across 49 appearances, securing his place as a key player for Celtic.

Despite being under contract until 2027, O’Riley’s performances have caught the eye of multiple Premier League clubs.

According to sources, West Ham United and Leicester City are both strongly interested in acquiring the 23-year-old. However, they are currently reluctant to meet Celtic’s £25 million asking price. Even so, both clubs are prepared to initiate negotiations in an effort to reach an agreement before the new season kicks off next week.

In addition to the interest from West Ham and Leicester, Serie A club Atalanta has also made attempts to sign O’Riley. Their latest bid, reportedly around €18 million, was rejected by Celtic, but the Italian side is expected to return with a revised offer.

Meanwhile, Chelsea could also enter the fray, considering O’Riley as a potential replacement for Conor Gallagher, who is linked with a move to Atletico Madrid. Whether any of these clubs will meet Celtic’s valuation remains to be seen.
