Team GB golfer Charley Hull is concerned that a smoking ban at the Paris 2024 Olympics could hinder her chances of winning a gold medal.
Hull, who has gained attention for her candid and unapologetic attitude, became a viral sensation earlier this year when she was photographed smoking during the US Women’s Open.
The 28-year-old from Kettering, who has ADHD, explained that smoking helps her manage her condition, providing a sense of relaxation crucial to her performance.
However, the Paris 2024 organizers have implemented a strict no-smoking policy across all Olympic venues, leaving Hull anxious about the impact on her game. While she acknowledges the challenge, Hull is determined to adapt, although she admits it might affect her performance.
Hull, who finished seventh in Rio 2016, is representing Team GB for the second time alongside fellow British golfer Georgia Hall. Despite her concerns, Hull remains focused on the competition, emphasizing the personal nature of the Olympics, where individual medals are at stake.
Away from the golf course, Hull has also faced recent changes in her personal life, including a breakup with reality star Gaz Beadle. With a demanding schedule, she has expressed a preference for avoiding high-profile relationships for now, focusing instead on her sport and the challenges ahead.
