The Boston Bruins have had a productive offseason, securing key free agents like Elias Lindholm and Nikita Zadorov.

However, a significant unresolved issue remains: the contract status of goaltender Jeremy Swayman. Despite both the Bruins and Swayman expressing confidence in reaching a long-term deal, no agreement has been announced as training camp draws near. Notably, neither side pursued arbitration, signaling a mutual desire to negotiate.

During a recent appearance on WEEI’s “Gresh & Fauria,” Bruins CEO Charlie Jacobs provided a brief update on the situation. He refrained from discussing specifics but confirmed ongoing negotiations, emphasizing the importance of having Swayman ready for the upcoming season. Jacobs also acknowledged that finalizing Swayman’s contract is the Bruins’ most pressing “unfinished business” this offseason.

The Bruins’ goaltending situation has shifted since trading Linus Ullmark to Ottawa and acquiring Joonas Korpisalo, who struggled last season. With Swayman coming off a strong 2023-24 season, the Bruins are eager to secure his long-term future, making the finalization of his contract a top priority as the season approaches.
