Millwall manager Neil Harris has confirmed that a promising Celtic youth Star Daniel Kelly will join the Championship club in January once his contract with the Scottish champions ends on December 31, 2024.
The move comes after the player declined to renew his contract with Celtic, a decision that left him sidelined from first-team opportunities for the remainder of the year. Instead, he will play in the Lowland League until his contract expires.
Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers expressed disappointment, stating that he believed the terms offered were fair, but the player chose to pursue a different path.
The player’s agent has not negotiated for an earlier move to Millwall, which some consider surprising given the potential benefits for both the player and the club. This situation mirrors a similar one with Rocco Vata, where Celtic will be entitled to a cross-border development fee once the transfer is finalized.
