Recent insights from David Ornstein suggest exciting prospects for Arsenal’s upcoming transfer window. Ornstein, in a Q&A session with the Athletic, highlighted the likelihood of Arsenal securing both a winger and a striker for the Emirates Stadium.

The necessity for a top-tier striker at Arsenal has been well-documented, particularly evident in early season goal-scoring struggles. Despite improvements post-winter break, a recent defeat to FC Porto underscored the need for a clinical No. 9, as Arsenal failed to register a single shot on target.

Ornstein’s projections align with the club’s focus on acquiring a striker, with potential targets including Benjamin Sesko, Viktor Gyokeres, and Evan Ferguson.

Regarding the winger position, Arsenal has shown interest in Wolves’ Pedro Neto to provide cover for Saka. However, Ornstein acknowledges the complexities of Neto’s potential transfer, given his popularity among other clubs and a speculated £80 million price tag, which Arsenal deems excessive.

While Neto remains a primary target, Arsenal is exploring alternative options to bolster their attacking options.

Competition for Neto’s signature is fierce, with clubs like Manchester City, Liverpool, Manchester United, Newcastle United, and Tottenham Hotspur also expressing interest. Securing both a winger and a striker would undoubtedly elevate Arsenal’s offensive capabilities, potentially enhancing their title aspirations, as they currently sit just two points off the league summit with 12 games remaining.

With the addition of a clinical striker and a capable backup for Saka, Arsenal’s quest to defend their league title next season could be significantly bolstered.
