As the new school year begins, many reflect on the summer, and for Auburn football, this past summer was unforgettable.

The Tigers secured several high-profile recruits for their 2025 class, including running back Alvin Henderson, safeties Eric Winters and Anquon Fegans, and defensive end Jared Smith. Auburn also made strides in its 2026 recruiting efforts, landing four players, propelling the team to the No. 1 spot in the 247Sports rankings.

Auburn’s impressive ability to recruit in-state talent has been particularly noteworthy. To date, Auburn has commitments from eight of Alabama’s top 10 recruits from the 2025 cycle. The team is still actively pursuing Na’eem Offord (No. 1) and Zion Grady (No. 6) in hopes of completing a clean sweep of the state’s top talent.

ESPN’s Eli Lederman highlighted Auburn’s summer recruiting success, placing the Tigers in the “winners” category. However, a Big Ten recruiting staffer cautioned that Auburn’s ability to maintain its strong recruiting class could hinge on its 2024 season performance.

“I could see them continuing to charge on and sign a top-five class,” the staffer remarked. “I could also see them going 7-5 and that class crumbling pretty fast.”

As Auburn looks ahead, the team is the favorite for Deuce Knight if he decommits from Notre Dame. They are also eyeing Ohio State cornerback pledge Na’eem Offord and remain in the running for four-star offensive tackle Andrew Babalola and linebacker Tyler Lockhart.

Auburn’s 2025 class is currently ranked No. 5 in 247Sports as the calendar approaches the end of August.
