As the Cleveland Browns strive to secure a playoff spot this season, the team is addressing various challenges, including key injuries and performance concerns.
Star running back Nick Chubb is still recovering from a severe knee injury sustained in Week 2 of last season, and his return remains uncertain. Meanwhile, quarterback Deshaun Watson, who has struggled to replicate his success from his time with the Houston Texans, is under pressure to perform at a higher level.
In a bid to strengthen their roster, the Browns recently worked out six players: Eno Benjamin, Trey Dean, Myles Jones, Tyreque Jones, Trenton Thompson, and Rachad Wildgoose.
Eno Benjamin, a running back with a strong college record at Arizona State, was a seventh-round draft pick in 2020 but missed last season due to a ruptured Achilles tendon.
Safety Trey Dean, who was part of the Kansas City Chiefs’ practice squad during their Super Bowl run, along with undrafted defensive backs Myles Jones, Tyreque Jones, and Trenton Thompson, were also evaluated.
Rachad Wildgoose, a defensive back drafted in the sixth round in 2021, has appeared in 20 NFL games to date.
The Browns’ decision to explore these players highlights their ongoing efforts to build a more competitive and resilient team as they prepare for the challenges ahead.
