Andy Murray, the celebrated two-time Wimbledon champion, is increasingly being tipped to step into a coaching role after his retirement from professional tennis.

Having recently retired following his appearance at the Paris Olympics, Murray’s future career plans have become a hot topic of discussion among tennis enthusiasts.

Laura Robson, Murray’s former mixed doubles partner, has strongly backed him to coach emerging British tennis talents like Emma Raducanu or Jack Draper.

Although Murray has expressed reservations about the extensive travel demands that come with coaching, Robson is confident in his abilities. She highlighted Murray’s analytical approach to the game and his passion for tactics and technical details, suggesting that he would be an invaluable mentor.

Robson also revealed that Murray has already begun mentoring young players by inviting juniors to practice sessions and even spending time with them in Greece ahead of the Olympics.

Murray himself has previously indicated interest in coaching Raducanu or Draper, naming them as players he would enjoy working with. His recent interactions with young athletes, such as mentoring 17-year-old Scottish player Charlie Robertson, further signal his readiness to invest in the next generation of tennis stars.

As speculation continues, many in the tennis community eagerly anticipate Murray’s potential transition into coaching.
