Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Gardner Minshew has stepped into a difficult role, serving as the team’s starting QB while being seen as a temporary solution until the franchise finds a long-term option.

However, Minshew has quickly gained the respect of key players, including star wide receiver Davante Adams. In a recent appearance on “Up & Adams,” Adams gave Minshew high praise, noting the quarterback’s exceptional mental toughness.

“Dude is one of the most mentally tough people I’ve been around,” Adams stated, referencing Minshew’s ability to shake off setbacks, including a Week 2 interception. Adams highlighted that while playing quarterback is one of the most challenging roles, Minshew has shown remarkable composure and resilience. He added, “We try to be there for him and make sure he knows that we got his back, but most times, he’s already got a good hold of everything mentally.”

Minshew, a seasoned backup from stints with the Eagles and Colts, won the Raiders’ QB competition in training camp and has thrown for 533 yards, 2 touchdowns, and 2 interceptions in the 2024 season.

Despite low expectations for the team, Adams’ compliment reflects Minshew’s growing influence in the locker room as they head into Week 3 against the Carolina Panthers.
