The Football Association (FA) has charged Nottingham Forest head coach Nuno Espirito Santo and midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White following controversial incidents in their 2-2 draw against Brighton & Hove Albion.

During the Premier League match on Sunday, Gibbs-White was sent off in the 83rd minute after receiving a second yellow card for a tackle on Joao Pedro, following an earlier booking for a foul on Georginio Rutter. His dismissal leaves him suspended for Forest’s upcoming match against Fulham.

The FA’s statement also revealed that both Gibbs-White and Nuno Espirito Santo face further repercussions for their conduct. It is alleged that the Forest midfielder acted improperly and directed abusive language at officials after his red card.

Similarly, Nuno and Brighton manager Fabian Hurzeler were ejected from the game due to their reactions to the incident. The FA accuses Nuno of improper behavior and using abusive language towards the match officials.

The charged individuals have until Friday, September 27, to respond. Both Nuno and Gibbs-White’s absences will be felt during Nottingham Forest’s next match. Forest has since questioned the referee’s decision, as assistant coach Rui Pedro Silva expressed surprise at the red card, stating it seemed like a fair tackle at first glance.
