The Toronto Blue Jays have announced roster changes ahead of their final game in a series against the Boston Red Sox.

On Wednesday, the team recalled right-handed pitcher Brett de Geus from Triple-A Buffalo, while optioning reliever Tommy Nance to their spring training facility.

De Geus, who was claimed off waivers from the Miami Marlins on September 12, has appeared in 11 games this season between the Marlins and Seattle Mariners, posting a 0-2 record with a 5.00 earned-run average (ERA).

Meanwhile, Tommy Nance has made 20 appearances for the Blue Jays during the 2024 season. Over this period, he recorded an 0-3 win-loss record and a 4.09 ERA.

The roster moves are seen as part of the Blue Jays’ strategy as they near the end of the regular season, looking to fine-tune their bullpen and maximize their performance in the final stretch.
