Following the Las Vegas Raiders’ disappointing Week 3 loss to the Carolina Panthers, head coach Antonio Pierce suggested that some adjustments might be on the horizon, particularly regarding the offensive line.

Despite competitive efforts, the Raiders have underperformed, especially on offense, prompting speculation about potential changes.

Pierce’s comments came after Sunday’s defeat, where rookie offensive lineman Jackson Powers-Johnson made his debut. Powers-Johnson, the Raiders’ second-round draft pick, played 21 snaps in relief of Dylan Parham at right guard, and his performance was impressive.

He is ranked among the Top-10 guards in several categories, including pass-blocking and pressures allowed, according to Pro Football Focus. With the team struggling in the run game, Powers-Johnson’s strong showing raises the likelihood of him starting in Week 4 against the Cleveland Browns.

The Raiders’ offensive line has been inconsistent, excelling in pass protection but ranking 31st in run-blocking. Given their poor rushing performance, a shakeup seems inevitable.

Powers-Johnson’s potential as a starter could provide a much-needed boost to the team as they prepare for a tough matchup ahead.
