Alabama’s victory over Georgia in a dramatic 41-34 SEC matchup on Saturday was marked by the impressive performances of two freshmen, Ryan Williams and Zabien Brown.

Before the game, Williams had predicted Brown would make a game-winning interception, which indeed came to pass. Alabama’s head coach, Kalen DeBoer, praised the game as:

“exhilarating, exciting, explosive, emotional,” encapsulating the atmosphere at Bryant-Denny Stadium.

Alabama surged to an early 28-0 lead before Georgia mounted a stunning comeback, eventually taking a 34-33 lead late in the fourth quarter. But Alabama quickly responded.

On the first play of their next drive, Williams made a spectacular 75-yard catch-and-run, utilizing a spin move that he later described as feeling “like slow motion.” Williams, a 17-year-old wide receiver, finished the game with six catches for 177 yards.

Georgia marched down the field afterward, threatening to take the lead again, but Brown intercepted a pass in the end zone, sealing the victory. Brown, reflecting on the moment, said:

“It doesn’t even feel real to me. I don’t even remember it.”

DeBoer’s first SEC win comes against a formidable Georgia team led by his former colleague, Kirby Smart.

Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe also had a standout performance, racking up 300 passing yards and 100 rushing yards, cementing his growing reputation under DeBoer’s guidance.
