The New Orleans Saints have recently become central to significant trade rumors, with a strong possibility of acquiring Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams.

Adams officially requested a trade on Tuesday, sparking immediate speculation that the Saints, with former Raiders quarterback Derek Carr, could be one of his top choices.

The pair played together at Fresno State and again for the Raiders before Carr’s departure.Adams, frustrated with the losing culture in Las Vegas, is seeking a team that can provide him a chance to compete for a Super Bowl.

Several teams, including the New York Jets, who have Adams’ former quarterback Aaron Rodgers, are also in the mix. However, the Saints’ early season success has positioned them as serious contenders. Adding Adams to their offense could elevate their play even further.

Reportedly, the Raiders are asking for a second-round pick as the starting point for trade discussions. The Saints could offer a compelling package: a 2025 second-round pick, wide receiver Bub Means, and a 2026 fourth-round pick.

This deal provides Las Vegas with the draft capital they seek, along with a young wide receiver. Given that Means has only played nine percent of snaps so far, he could see more action in Las Vegas.

Should the Saints pull off this trade, they’d likely need to restructure Adams’ contract, as they are not in a position to absorb his $36 million cap hit for 2025 and 2026. However, this restructuring would be an issue for a later stage, as the immediate focus is on acquiring a game-changing talent to push the Saints further into contention.
