Ahead of their crucial Week 5 clash with the Baltimore Ravens, the Cincinnati Bengals made significant roster changes.

On Friday, the team announced the release of defensive tackle Zach Carter, a third-round pick from the 2022 NFL Draft.

Carter had been a key player for the Bengals in the early part of the season, participating in all four games and recording nine tackles with half a sack. However, the team decided to part ways, though there’s speculation that Carter may be signed to the practice squad if he clears waivers.

In addition, the Bengals activated defensive end Myles Murphy and defensive tackle McKinnley Jackson from the injured reserve.

Both players were sidelined with knee injuries since late August but were cleared to practice earlier this week. Their return is a timely boost for the Bengals as they prepare for a must-win game against the Ravens to remain competitive in the AFC North.

These moves signal a shift in the Bengals’ defensive lineup, as the team looks to stabilize and strengthen its front line for the rest of the season.
