The Pittsburgh Steelers opened the 2024 NFL season with three straight wins but have since stumbled, suffering back-to-back losses to the Indianapolis Colts and Dallas Cowboys.
With their record at 3-2, concerns are growing about the offense, which has struggled to score more than 24 points in any game despite the defense being among the league’s best.
According to ESPN’s Dan Graziano, the Steelers are expected to explore the trade market for receivers ahead of the NFL trade deadline.
Among the key targets mentioned are Tennessee Titans wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins and Jacksonville Jaguars’ Christian Kirk. A move for Hopkins, a proven veteran, could provide the offensive spark Pittsburgh needs.
Since being drafted in 2013, Hopkins has tallied 12,476 receiving yards and 79 touchdowns, consistently delivering 1,000-yard seasons. He remains one of the NFL’s premier playmakers, and his addition would bolster the Steelers’ struggling receiving corps.
Should the Titans fail to improve their own season, they may be inclined to trade the star receiver, especially with other teams like the Kansas City Chiefs reportedly expressing interest.
Whether the Steelers will acquire Hopkins or pivot toward another target remains uncertain, but it is clear they are actively seeking reinforcements to strengthen their playoff chances.
