Denver Broncos defensive lineman John Franklin-Myers has been fined $14,069 for an unsportsmanlike act during the team’s Week 5 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders.

According to NFL insider Tom Pelissero, Franklin-Myers was penalized for poking Raiders defensive tackle Adam Butler in the eye during the fourth quarter, with 4:01 left to play.

Franklin-Myers, who joined the Broncos this offseason following a trade from the New York Jets, has made an impact with his new team. Denver acquired him in exchange for a 2026 sixth-round pick and restructured his contract to a two-year, $15 million extension.

The 28-year-old will become a free agent in 2026. So far this season, he has recorded 12 tackles and two sacks in 136 snaps, earning a PFF grade of 63.8, ranking him 38th among 124 interior defenders.

Under defensive coordinator Vance Joseph, the Broncos have adopted a rotational pass-rush strategy, disrupting opponents without relying on a star rusher. Through five games, Denver’s defense has accumulated 19 sacks, ranking third in the league, and allowed just eight passing plays of 20 or more yards, tied for second-best.

The Broncos, now 3-2, will aim to build momentum when they face the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 6 on October 13.
