Following the Raiders’ trade of star receiver Davante Adams, questions have arisen about whether the team is heading into a rebuild phase.

Maxx Crosby, the Raiders’ standout defensive end, addressed these uncertainties on Wednesday during a locker room interview. Although Crosby has expressed that he does not want to be traded—and team owner Mark Davis has stated he will not be moved—his latest remarks have sparked new speculation.

“I’m not here to rebuild, I’m here to win,” Crosby told reporters. “So, you know, I don’t know. Whatever that means, but yeah, I’m here to win now. And wherever I’m gonna be, I’m gonna be here to win. So that’s all that matters to me.”

While Crosby’s words seem straightforward, subtle moments during the interview raised eyebrows. At one point, he gave a brief, knowing smile—gone as quickly as it appeared—hinting at thoughts he left unsaid.

His remark: “Wherever I’m gonna be, I’m gonna be here to win,” has fueled interpretations that Crosby might be contemplating his future with the team, especially given Adams’ departure.

Though Crosby has not directly expressed a desire to leave, his comments leave room for speculation. The reality of playing for a struggling team versus the prospect of joining a contender is a dilemma few elite players can ignore.

Whether this interview was just an offhand moment or a subtle indication of deeper thoughts remains to be seen.
