The New England Patriots may be looking to offload their star running back, Rhamondre Stevenson, in a trade with the Dallas Cowboys, as both teams move in opposite directions.
The Patriots, led by rookie quarterback Drake Maye, are in full rebuild mode, while the Cowboys, despite extending quarterback Dak Prescott with a $240 million contract, continue to struggle on offense.
Dallas currently holds a 3-3 record with a -42 point differential, largely due to a lackluster rushing attack. Ezekiel Elliott and Rico Dowdle have underperformed, prompting speculation about reinforcements.
Nick Villano from FanSided has suggested that the Cowboys should target Stevenson before the November 5 trade deadline to address their backfield issues.
Though Stevenson recently signed a four-year, $36 million extension with New England, his fumbling issues have reduced his role on the team. Despite these setbacks, Stevenson has totaled 393 yards and three touchdowns in five games, making him a promising addition for Dallas. His contract allows flexibility, as the Cowboys could keep him until 2028 or release him after 2026 without penalty.
Acquiring Stevenson would signal the Cowboys’ intention to course-correct and make a stronger playoff push, bolstering Prescott’s offense with much-needed balance.
