Conor Gallagher talks about his goals, childhood support for Chelsea, and the quest for consistency.

The locally nurtured midfield talent has netted four times in our previous six matches and is currently confident in his scoring ability, yet he maintains that he hasn’t altered his approach to finding the back of the net recently.

Gallager’s take on his recent goal scoring form.

‘It’s definitely felt like a bit of a breakthrough,’ he says. ‘I’ve said it a number of times – I want to be a player that scores goals from midfield. I think I have the ability to do so, and I wasn’t able to do it so well earlier this season.

‘That might be to do with luck, or to do with myself, but to score four goals in the last few games has been brilliant and fills me with more confidence to hopefully go on and get some more.

‘I’ve been getting in the same positions all season, to be honest,’ he adds. ‘It’s really small margins but if you look back at our games, I’ve very often been getting in the same positions from where I’ve scored those few goals lately.

‘Thankfully, the boys have found me a few times and I’ve managed to score a few, but it’s all about consistency, continuing to do that and helping the team score more goals.’
