Emma Raducanu recently shared an encouraging update on her recovery via Instagram, hinting at her return to the tennis court.
The 21-year-old British tennis star has been dealing with a foot injury that forced her to withdraw from next week’s WTA 250 tournament in Hong Kong. Despite the setback, Raducanu expressed optimism about her progress and is targeting a return in time for the Billie Jean King Cup Finals, scheduled for November 13-20.
In a statement posted earlier this week on X (formerly Twitter), Raducanu apologized for her withdrawal, saying:
“Hellooo, I’m sorry to say that I will not be able to play in Hong Kong next week. Whilst my foot is making good progress, I need a little more time before I am match fit. I hope to be able to come back and play this tournament in the future! In the meantime, I am doing what I can to be ready for BJKC.”
In her latest Instagram reel, Raducanu can be seen back on the practice court, working through drills and hitting the gym. The video also offers glimpses of her enjoying downtime with friends, showing a balance between recovery efforts and personal relaxation.
Raducanu initially kicked off her Asian swing in Seoul earlier this month, advancing to the quarterfinals before being forced to retire due to the ligament injury.
Now, the hope is that she avoids any setbacks over the next few weeks and will be ready to represent Great Britain in the Billie Jean King Cup in Malaga.
