As the Georgia Bulldogs prepare to face the Florida Gators on November 2 in their annual SEC rivalry game in Jacksonville, Florida, rumors are circulating that Georgia may also be stealing a top recruit from Florida’s 2025 class.

Georgia is currently a 14.5-point favorite for the matchup, according to Action Network. However, attention is now focused on off-field developments, as Georgia is predicted to secure a commitment from Jeramiah McCloud, a highly ranked defensive lineman from Leesburg, Georgia.

McCloud, who has previously committed to Florida, is now seen as a strong lean toward Georgia, with On3.com projecting a 97.6% likelihood he’ll flip to the Bulldogs.

On3.com’s Steve Wiltfong recently labeled Georgia as the favorite to lure McCloud away from the Gators. McCloud spoke openly about the appeal of Georgia, stating to On3:

“UGA does fit me. What excites me the most about Athens is it’s in Georgia and I’m from Georgia.”

McCloud also highlighted the connections he has made with Georgia players, saying:

“I also got to spend time with a few players and talk with them about UGA. Me and [Georgia linebacker] Gabe Harris had numerous conversations about what it’s like in Athens and just hearing from him makes me want to spend more time in Athens.”

A four-star recruit ranked as the No. 13 defensive tackle in his class by Rivals, McCloud’s decision could be influenced by Saturday’s game outcome.

Fans from both sides will be watching to see if the rivalry atmosphere impacts his commitment status.
