Baron Browning, the newly acquired outside linebacker for the Arizona Cardinals, opened up about his recent trade from the Denver Broncos, which he had been anticipating.

“A little bit, yeah,” Browning replied when asked if he saw the trade coming, adding, “I think so, yeah.” He also emphasized that he did not want to disrupt his former team. “I didn’t want to be a distraction to my teammates… I was just ready for it to be done, just to get this fresh start and show what I can do,” he explained. Browning expressed confidence in his abilities, stating, “I know I’m a starter in this league and I know I can play at a high level, so I’m just excited about the opportunity to do that here.”

Drafted by the Broncos in 2021, Browning faced challenges due to injuries and a drop in pass-rush ranking but still managed 9.5 sacks and 28 pressures in his first two seasons.

Arizona’s head coach, Jonathan Gannon, praised Browning for his versatility, high motor, and physical play, which he believes will fit well with the team’s defensive needs.

The Cardinals’ defense, struggling with injuries to key players, is hoping Browning will provide the boost they need. Browning is expected to play in Sunday’s game against the New York Jets.
