AC Milan CEO Giorgio Furlani has unequivocally shut down rumors linking star winger Rafael Leao with a move to Barcelona.
Addressing the speculation, Furlani firmly stated, “There is zero possibility that Leao will leave Milan for Barcelona.” His remarks came during an interaction with reporters outside Milan’s Milanello training facility, where he also expressed confidence in Leao’s commitment to the club.
When asked if there was any chance that the 25-year-old might request a transfer, Furlani responded:
“I am sure that he will not.”
Leao, who has become one of Milan’s most crucial players, has a contract that extends until 2028.
Despite reports from Spain suggesting Barcelona’s interest in acquiring the Portuguese international, Furlani’s comments make it clear that Milan has no intention of letting go of their prized asset.
The Serie A giants began their season last weekend with a dramatic 2-2 draw against Torino and are set to face newly-promoted Parma on Saturday.
