AC Milan is currently in negotiations to acquire goalkeeper Simone Scuffet from Cagliari, prompted by an injury to Marco Sportiello.
The backup goalkeeper, Sportiello, sustained a significant injury to his left hand, necessitating the search for a replacement.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Milan has reached out to Cagliari, and Scuffet has expressed his willingness to transfer. However, the discussions are advancing slowly. Scuffet, 28, had an impressive previous season with Cagliari, featuring in 31 matches, and is under contract until June 2026.
Paulo Fonseca, Milan’s new head coach, is evaluating Sportiello’s recovery timeline. Nevertheless, the urgency for a reliable goalkeeper is evident.
Scuffet remains the primary target, and the club is optimistic about a resolution. Yet, the current pace of negotiations suggests that finalizing the deal could take some time.
